Dearborn County CASA awards three $1,250.00 scholarships to one graduating student from each of our three local high schools.

Students should write an essay reflecting the students’ perspectives on alcohol, vaping, tobacco, or other drugs. This can be a national, state, or local perspective or a personal narrative on specific experiences. The essay should focus around this question: "What action plan would you put together to address these issues in our schools and community?" The essay should be between 750-1000 words.

A committee reviews applications with the student's name removed.

• Applicants must submit the essay below with a signed letter from their guidance counselor stating the student:
  1. Has a C or above GPA; transcripts are not required
  2. Student does not have a record of suspensions or expulsions due to substance-related issues
  3. Student has been accepted to a college or technical school

Application process begins March 1st every year with a deadline of March 31st.
